Role: Food Service Teacher - School Chef at Primrose School of West McDonough - 450 Mt. Olive Road Stockbridge, GA 30281

Nurture a child's first five years by:
- Planning and preparing nutritious meals and snacks for children ages six weeks through five years (infant through Pre-Kindergarten), at a school with capacity for up to 212 children — including cooking meals from scratch and using fresh fruits and vegetables
- Maintaining and tracking food allergies for each child, ensuring all children receive only allowed foods, providing alternatives for allergies or dietary restrictions, and communicating identified allergies to teachers daily with every food delivery
- Following proper food safety, food handling, and sanitation procedures, and maintaining a clean kitchen after preparation and serving of meals
- Managing and purchasing all food and paper goods, and keeping inventory records as required by local and state agencies
- Complying with all Bright from the Start and ServSafe regulations
- Providing excellent customer service and a positive attitude toward parents and children
- Working with school leaders and classroom teachers to keep daily mealtime schedules and routines consistent
- Providing occasional support in classrooms to help maintain required staff-to-child ratios, as needed
Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience in food preparation and cooking, preferably in a child care center, elder care or assisted living facility, or K-12 school
- Comprehensive criminal background check and drug testing required
- Willing and able to obtain and maintain ServSafe Certification, Basic First Aid and CPR, and other Bright from the Start mandated training
- Experience in quality and quantity food preparation and inventory control
- Knowledge of nutrition, basic food preparation, and food sanitation
- A teamwork mindset, strong communication skills, organizational skills, and problem-solving ability
- Ability to lift a minimum of 40 lbs, plus standing, walking, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, and repetitive motion

Shift Schedule: Monday through Friday, 6:00 AM to 2:00 PM (Different schedules available)
